About

WHO WE ARE-
Well first Let me introduce myself, my name is Chad and I am the creator of snipe habitat. I live in Seattle, Wa. I have a B.S. in Zoology with a minor in animal psychology from the University of Washington. Just so you don’t think that I am some crazy guy who doesn’t know anything, here ya go. I currently work in the E.R. at Seattle Vet Specialists , the 2nd largest and best specialty vet hospital in western Wa, I also worked at the woodland park zoo in Seattle. Keeping and breeding animals is also a passion of mine, I have kept and bred Ball Pythons, Blood Pythons, Woma Pythons, Crested Geckos, African Pygmy Hedgehogs and Leopard Geckos. I have over 15 years of animal keeping experience. I also skate in my free time which is not much these days.
My goal with this site was to get younger people interested in endangered species so I created a site that hopefully will do both. My thought was to find a way to combine two things that I think are cool, animals and skateboarding. We here at Snipe support local skaters and endangered species. I wanted to create a place where people of all ages could go to learn about endangered species. By using skateboarding I want to get young people involved by using something that they do already (skateboarding) and something they might want to learn about anyways(animals).
WHAT WERE DOING-
Here at Snipe we are all about sustainability, so we have our own line of recycled and BAMBOO clothing. Playback clothing in Brooklyn, NY is where we get our hoodies and recycled PET bottle shirts. Everything at Playback is recycled, either cotton from clothing or polyester from water bottles that would other wise sit in landfills forever. Bamboo is a great option to cotton due to the fast growth of bamboo. Some species of Bamboo can grow 3ft in a day! Bamboo is also lighter than cotton and it feels much cooler when you wear it because the fibers breathe better. We are also going to be selling Bamboo Skateboard decks too, but due to the cost and manufacturing that will come a little later! We also want to be used as an information site. There is an animal link on the home page which will take you to a list of endangered species. You can click on any animal and find out useful information on, what they are, where they live, how many are left and how to help.
HOW WERE HELPING-
Now that you know who and what we are, here’s how we help! 5% of all profits from this website will go to groups and societies who are dedicated to saving endangered species! We also want to support local skaters so if you have a video of your tricks put it on you tube and send us an email, we’ll put it on the site!
